Crisp cotton linen and gorgeous Welsh blankets on sublimely comfortable beds, your own private wood-fired hot tub, and of course, your tent’s own shower room. Combine it with a soundtrack of rustling leaves in the breeze, children’s laughter, and the crackling of logs on the fire, and you’ll begin to understand the magic of Gilestone Glamping. The safari lodges were awarded Visit Wales’ Gold Award for exceptional accommodation in 2019. Choose from Goshawk, Buzzard and Dove. Each are individually designed with flair and style, and are so comfortable you will never want to leave.

It’s time to relaX

Read that book at last, play cards or board games, spend time together by the fire. Children can romp around the field, build dens in the hedges or just play outside, while parents look on from the veranda. Enjoy a wild swim or take the rowing boat out on the lake in the neighbouring field. Take a tour around the farm with the friendly owner, Charles, or scrump some apples in the Community Orchard on the farm.

Goshawk and buzzard

Goshawk and Buzzard both sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms; a double room, a twin room and a cabin bed. They’re perfect for families with a cosy sitting area with a wood burning stove and plenty of games and books. The kitchens are equipped with a gas hob, microwave, fridge with a freezer compartment, kettle and toaster. There is an adjacent ‘Pitch Pod’ shower room, with a shower, a flushing loo and basin. Outside, there’s a wonderful fire pit with a barbecue grill. Tucked away beside the lodge is a private hot tub.

dove

Dove sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms, but it’s also perfect for a couple. One of the rooms has a large double bed, one has twin beds and the other a cabin bed. It’s cosy and beautifully well equipped. The sitting area has a sofa and two chairs around the blanket box which is filled with board games and books. The kitchen area has everything you’ll need, with a hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle and toaster. Outside, there’s a ‘Pitch Pod’ shower room, with a shower, a flushing loo and basin. Dove has its own private hot tub, and a fire pit to while away the evening.

Prices for dove lodge:

  • Plenty of parking just outside the glamping field

  • Shared washing machine in the farmyard

  • You can order food in advance to cook on your hob or firepit

  • Private hot tub is free of charge. It’s wood fired, so takes a while to warm up.

  • Open March to October

  • No need to load your car too much, all of the following is included:

    • Towels and bed linen

    • Wood for the firepits and hot tubs

    • Pots and pans and crockery to cook on the hob and firepit

    • The basics – salt, pepper, olive oil, coffee, tea, sugar, lemons and garlic

    • Washing up liquid and cleaning things

    • Ethically produced paraben free toiletries

    • Toilet paper

    • Local OS maps, walking routes and activity ideas
