Kitchen

The traditional farmhouse kitchen has a flagstone floor, huge pine table and chairs and a four oven Aga. Welsh dressers contain all the glasses, crockery, pots and pans, and kitchen utensils that you are likely to need. Leading off the kitchen is the old dairy (always cool and is ideal for storing food and drink) with a large American fridge freezer and the utility room which has plenty of space for drying wet cycling or walking kit, a tumble drier, washing machine and dishwasher as well as an additional electric cooker and sink.

Sitting rooms

Choosing which sitting room to relax in might just be the most stressful part of staying at Gilestone Farmhouse.

The sitting room is huge, with plenty of seating, a log burning stove, and a TV and DVD player.

The morning room is cosier, with a wood burner and lots of board games and books to enjoy.

The conservatory has a small dining table and a sofa and chairs, with views of the garden and the farmland beyond. It’s a great place to read a book or (if you have to) get some work done.

Downstairs shower room

Off the utility room is a shower room with a shower, loo and basin.

Bedrooms

Up the oak stair case to the seven bedrooms over 2 floors. On the first floor, you’ll find:

1. Cosy Room – a double room
2. Grey Room – a charming single bedroom
3. Red Room – a huge room with a king-sized bed
4. Turquoise Room – a double room
5. Four Poster Room – wonderful room with a king-sized, hand-carved, four poster bed

There are two large bathrooms on the first floor.

Continue up to the second floor to find:
6. View room – a huge double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and an additional single bed, making it an ideal family room (there is a £30 supplementary charge for use of this bed to cover laundry and making up).
7. Family room - double bed with additional single bed. Adjacent shower room.

There is central heating and logs are available free of charge for the wood-burning stoves.

Outside

Gilestone Farmhouse is set in delightful lawned gardens with mature shrubs and trees. A little stream runs through part of the garden. Outside the conservatory is a patio area with outdoor furniture and a barbeque.
